What do biological systems like human beings need to do
in order to stay alive, thrive and enjoy their lives?
We need to be in a constantly adapting, ever evolving, reciprocal dialogue with our environment.
Through this dialogue we remind ourselves who we are,
and refine how we move towards and with the world,
with openness and creative variability.
Furthermore, the way we touch the world
is the way we understand the world.
The way we move our eyes, hands, arms, and the entire body
affects our perception and mapping of the world.
How do we create maps that are under creative construction?
And how does this process of ongoing revision shape our world?
We sculpt the world and the world sculpts us in return.
Dynamic dialogue with the environment, with particular interest
paid to the role of touch, and how they nest within
the universal Quest for Better Communication
will be the central themes for Intensive 2023.
Such an inquiry requires a practice where we test, explore
and widen our communication repertoire.
Using FM metacognitive and practical tools
(Zero Forms and Movement Situations)
we will hone our ability to find flexible strategies
for learning, planning and facing uncertainty.
Why?
Because we have desires and dreams
and we must find ways to accomplish them.
And because that is not easy,
we need to know what to do
when we do not know what to do.
